How do you want to enter the new year?
This morning, at the end of the first Yoga With Adriene session I’ve done since April, as my shoulders were trembling in an impossible pose, the thought “I feel empty” came to me. Then Adriene said something like, “if there’s a word on your mind now, what can it be telling you?”
Before this comment, the idea of “empty” was making me feel somewhat lonely, flat. But her suggestion helped me reframe what I was feeling.
Empty is an open space with infinite possibilities, and that’s how I choose to enter the new year.
Empty so that I can receive.
Empty so that I’m unburdened.
Empty so that I can change my mind when I need it.
Empty of preconceptions and predetermined ideas about what life should look like. Empty of predefined goals and expectations of happiness.
Empty of attack thoughts and lack of forgiveness. Empty of fear and self-aggrandizing defensiveness. Empty of regret, resentment, and hatred.
What do you choose for 2026?
Love,
Carolina
